Michael was spell-bound watching her. At first, he thought perhaps she wanted to just have the feel of the fresh grass under her feet while searching out the Life Force. But to his surprise, she was quite the quick study. As soon as she had made contact with the bare earth and searched the Life Power out, it had been drawn to her like it had been waiting for her forever. It embraced her much like the way he wanted to. To surround her in his energy and enjoy every square inch of her while she responded to him in a way the pure rapture on her face indicated she was responding now. He watched and almost felt he was guilty of spying on something intimate. She was a natural, harnessing the Life Power and quickly her body showed it. Her skin was sparkling and glowing from head to toe and he could see where her eyelashes were brushing her cheeks there was a slight glow coming from her eyes. He realized he had to intervene or she would quickly absorb too much. Being her first experience, his little Power Keeper could quickly get into trouble with what to do with it and possibly injure herself or someone near her. Had he known her intentions, he would have cautioned her on how far to go with this first experience.
He stepped up as close as possible to her as he could. Reaching out, he moved to place his hands on specific spots used for contact during the Transference of Life Power. He had to place them correctly to make sure there was no back lash from the Life Power rampantly running through her. He grasped both of her arms with his hands positioned under her forearms and slid them as close as possible to her elbows. Luckily, with the movement, Stormy naturally grasped his forearms with her hands. He leaned forward and whispered in her ear, "Stormy, I hate to interrupt your enjoyment, but this is the first time for you as a Power Keeper, and any more we will both be in trouble." On so many levels - he groaned in his mind.
He waited holding his breath and looked at her beautiful features. She was still pale, but already he could see improvement. Her waist length white blond hair was loose and draped around her shoulders sparkling with shine once again. Light baby blue eyes looked up at him in wonder like she had discovered something incredible. He had always gotten lost in the depths of her gorgeous sparkling eyes just as he was being drawn in now. And then his wait was over. Her fingertips made contact and he was in pure heaven. Everything for him clicked into place, his entire body singing its joy and need for her. His inner Sphinx purred in pure contentment. He just had to hold himself back just a little longer while she explored.
Eleina leaned in closer to him. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. Jacob didn’t move an inch. Just the look of pleasure on her face was enough to drive him beyond temptation. She opened her eyes and seemed mesmerized. She was so close he could feel her gentle breaths across his lips. A weak thought whispered across their link. Kiss him?
Well, what an interesting idea Jacob mused. Her look grew hotter and he felt like he was being caressed by her glance alone. He was on fire and the trail her fingers blazed made the heat sink further under his skin. Her fingertips seemed to have a mind of their own as she trailed them down his cheek and then over to his full lips. Her touch was so soft and delicate across his lips. He wanted to reach out with his tongue and lick them but he refrained. Who knew what she would do in her heightened state of awareness.
Approaching the edge of the bed, he started to pull the covers back when he noticed she was missing. He froze in place, not moving a muscle, and quickly called upon all of his senses. He detected no danger, but he definitely felt he was being stalked. Slowly, he dropped the covers and carefully turned around scanning the room as he maneuvered. The shadows were deep but he made out her outline against the wall across from him. He was entranced when he saw her dark blue eyes glowing mysteriously in the dark. “Alexandria…” he breathed right before she pounced knocking him flat on his back onto the bed.
Joshua just laid there sandwiched between the firm bed and Alexandria’s soft skinned body not moving one muscle. He wasn’t sure of her intentions or if she was fully aware of what she was doing. Who knew what condition her mind was in with the suppressant running through her system. She was enticingly positioned over him with her hips straddling his and her hands bracing her upper body above his chest. Sitting there a moment, she just watched him with an expression he couldn’t read, the glow in her eyes slowly fading.
Raising an arm, she swept back her long main of luxurious midnight black hair out of her way and leaned down near his neck, she inhaled deeply and purred. He was surprised by the sound since supposedly her Sphinx was no longer within her but either the Wraith was putting on quite the show or they were all wrong. He hoped for the latter because it would mean there was hope for his Lexi.
Ethan had to get Skye out of there but had no energy to even roll over. He feared he was done but he had to warn her. He couldn’t see her but reached out anyway and hoarsely whispered, “Skye, listen to me. You know me. It’s Ethan.” He gasped and fell into a fit of violent coughing as the Wraith poison worked its damage on him. Taking another breath he tried again. “It’s Ethan. Please listen to me. You have to escape. Go. Hide. You should be safe in your home. My friends will come to help me. I let them know where you are, don’t be afraid of them. Skye?”
Just when he was losing hope she was even anywhere near him, he saw her tentative approach. Panic, terror, pure fear was still written on her face. Tears ran down her cheeks from the most beautiful hazel eyes he had ever seen. The one light above her shown through her shoulder length curly ginger brown hair giving it a reddish golden glow almost like a halo.
“Sunshine,” he whispered. “Don’t be afraid of me. I would never harm you.” Ethan closed his eyes for a moment feeling the edge of the end reaching out for him. His Life Power was gone and his heart was giving out. It just figured he would finally meet the one woman who could have made the hell of his existence heaven and now he had to die.
“Please don’t die, Ethan.” Came the gentle request. He forced his eyes open to see Skye was now sitting on the ground next to him. The fear in her sweet face was gone but concern and the budding knowledge of who he was began to show in her features. “Hold on. We can get you to a hospital.”
Ethan reached toward her but she wrapped her arms around herself. Maybe she still did fear him. He didn’t know and was too weak to really care. He dropped his arm to the ground and looked away from her to his Sefu Element lying several feet away from him on the ground. Soon the Element would die without him and he knew he wasn’t too far behind it. Sadly he turned back toward her and tried to smile to reassure her. He figured the smile came out more as a grimace when she started to reach out to him this time.
“No. I can’t be taken to a hospital. It’s too dangerous Skye.” He croaked as the weakness and darkness began to overwhelm him completely. “Get to… get to safety. Save yourself. Leave me here. Please.”
Ethan couldn’t get anything more out. It was too hard to even breathe anymore. He didn’t want to leave her. Had just found her, damn it, but the voices of the Ancients were calling to him. As his consciousness slipped away he felt her small warm hand grasp his unharmed hand and the multi-leveled, multi-harmonic command of her soft voice as she demanded, “Stay with me, Ethan. I need you.”
Tentatively Lily placed her palms against Hunters chest. Under her fingertips she felt his quick indrawn breath and the rapid pounding of his heart. His muscles even twitched against her as if bolts of energy transferred from her to him. Fascinated with the feel of him she smoothed her hands over his chest and over to his arms sliding over the material of his black shirt until her hands made contact with his skin. He was so incredibly warm and she imagined fine velvet wrapped over hard steel when she smoothed her hands down his forearms. She wondered what the rest of him felt like and had the strongest desire to pull his shirt up and tunnel underneath to feel the hard muscles of his stomach. Not quite ready for that much adventure, she returned her exploration to his chest but couldn’t resist sliding her hands down until his firmly muscled stomach was under her palms but still covered by his shirt.
Hunter moaned and grabbed her wrists. “Careful, Lily. My inner beast is prowling and you’re not ready for that kind of adventure yet.”
Feeling challenged she looked up at him from under her eyelashes. Even though she was exhausted, the feel of him and the sensations coming from Hunter through their connection was making her braver than she would be normally. “How do you know I’m not ready Hunter? I’ve been waiting for someone to make me whole forever. I want to feel more with you. I want you to be even closer to me Hunter.”
The rush of energy which came from Hunter was incredible surrounding both him and her. One moment everything was normal and the next his Life Power exploded from him in shimmering swirls. The energy settled on her making her skin tingle deliciously. She wanted more so pulled at Hunter’s entrapping hands to get closer to him. Obliging her, he let go of her wrists and cupped her face in his slightly shaking hands. Hunter was holding back but Lily didn’t want him to.
Perhaps he felt what she wanted because he leaned down and kissed her. The moment his lips touched hers the world ceased to exist and her entire being was drawn into Hunter. Only the two of them existed. He teased, he tantalized, and he knew just exactly what to do to make her want more. He softly kissed her but within moments the kiss became more demanding. Hunter nipped at her and then ran his tongue along the seam of her lips. She had never been kissed before but knew what he wanted and opened for him. Rewarding her, he delved inside and stroked his talented tongue along hers.
Lily didn’t ever want the kiss to end but Hunter pulled back and inhaled deeply as if trying to get control before he thickly he said, “Great Ancients, Lily. You tempt me, but we need to take this slow. Have mercy on this Warrior. You may be innocent but I do believe you have a temptress in there.”
Secretly she smiled to herself as she leaned against him. Lily was tired of slow and of being denied all the wonderful things she had every intention of experiencing now. She knew Hunter was concerned for her well being and his need to protect her even extended to keeping himself in check. He would never hurt her and she knew this without one ounce of doubt. She was finally complete and totally safe and cherished by someone.
The bath was filled with the clearest aqua blue water he had ever seen. The urge to dive in and wash the Wraith blood from his body was almost overwhelming but the presence of Ashlyn before him stilled him in place. She was Egyptian artistry herself as she stood at the end of the pool with her back to him. She had removed her boots, weapons belt, and her fatigue pants so he could admire her long sleek legs. Her fiery auburn hair was loose hanging down her back until it almost touched her waist. His hands shook with the desire to touch her and run his fingers through her hair.
From her stance Caleb could see she was still upset. Hands on her hips, Ashlyn’s very aura kept the two Egyptian females who were dressed in white robes away from her. Caleb could tell they were just trying to help her bathe but she wasn’t having any of it. He felt her energy surge for just a moment and with a hiss she demanded, “Both of you out and make sure you keep anyone else out of here until I’m finished!”
Obviously not needing any more encouragement the two women skittered away and out the door on the opposite end of the huge bath. Yeah, his Ashlyn was definitely still upset but it eased him to see she was acting more like her old self. Standing where he was Caleb couldn’t see her face but the rolling of her shoulders in an attempt to wind down told him she still needed space. When she raised her arms and lifted her long locks off the back of her neck her t-shirt lifted even more exposing her bare bottom.
Caleb swallowed thickly . He wanted nothing more than to press Ashlyn’s sensual body up against his. Fighting the urge was almost impossible but for her he demanded his body to behave. She needed time and he already knew she had issues with males. Whatever had happened to her in the past had caused long lasting effects on her personality and behavior. The Foundary surfaced in his mind and he was almost certain she had been abused by their hands.
Not wanting to, but knowing he had to leave her alone until she was ready to approach him, Caleb started to back away towards the door. He froze in place when she turned her head ever so slightly to the side and whispered, “Don’t go, Caleb. Stay.”
As if her thoughts alone could conjure him, Kara suddenly felt Raven’s presence. At first it was a fleeting brush against her consciousness but then she could sense him coming closer and closer. Within moments his own brand of energy seemed to surround her in a protective blanket.
She knew he was in the cave with her in all of his masculine glory. Unable to stop her movement, Kara came to her feet and she slowly turned around. Standing not inches away from her Raven towered above her like an avenging angel. Behind him the waterfall shimmered with tiny rainbows from the interplay of the outside light making him seem like he was surrounded by an ethereal light. She could see the play of the muscles in his forearms as he curled and uncurled his fingers. She wondered if he was going to grab her but her attention was quickly captured by the glitter of his dark blue eyes. He looked like a man who was ready to take possession of what was his.
A thrill rushed through Kara and breathlessly she said, “Raven…”
In that instant Raven demanded, “Don’t ever leave me again like that, Kara.”
Before she could provide any kind of cohesive response Raven closed the few inches separating them and grabbed her by the arms. He pulled her forward until she was flush against him and then he slowly slid the palm of his hands the rest of the way up her arms causing tiny goose-bumps to form over her skin. His wandering didn’t stop there but continued until he had the fingers of one hand entwined in her hair and the other hand cupped against her face.
Raven had her completely under his skilled control but instead of being afraid Kara only wanted more. She wanted him to take charge, to take over, and to make her feel wanted, but more, she wanted to feel loved. Yes, the thought was truly a forbidden one, but it was what she wanted, what she wanted from him.
Kara had no idea what Raven was going to do. He stood there so long keeping control of her but his hold was so gentle it almost brought tears to her eyes. It was deliberate and yet he touched her with such care she didn’t feel one pull in the strands of her hair entangled in his fingers. She didn’t feel trapped in the least. Holding her breath she waited watching him as he seemed just as mesmerized watching her. Finally he moved, almost in slow motion, lowering his head. Kara closed her eyes, the anticipation driving her crazy, until finally his lips touched hers.
The first touch of his lips to hers did more to scramble her brain than any vision she had ever had. Nothing she could have imagined as a first kiss could have compared to this one. Her knees grew weak and her breaths came in ever excited gasps. She fisted her hands in his shirt to try and keep upright because she was so blown away. When he pulled back slightly from the kiss she whimpered in disappointment and fought to keep contact with him. To her delight he didn’t end the kiss but shifted his hand from her face to her lower back drawing her closer.
