Christine Murphy wanted to create a unique story unlike the usual vampires, demons, angels, shape changers, and other paranormal story lines. What she accomplished was a distinctive world with powerful characters, scenic civilizations, intense conflicts, and the all-important love and passion by reaching back into the Egyptian world and its artifacts. Today there is great mystery and intrigue over how the Egyptian civilization came Leader, who is her mentor, protector, and one true love.
A careerist in clinical laboratory, a wife, and mother, Christine Murphy has tackled the exciting world of the paranormal romance author in her spare time. An avid romance enthusiast overall, she has long enjoyed delving into new worlds and characters through her imagination and has read hundreds of books through the years. Having had quite the imagination since childhood, she decided to put all that creativity down on paper and share it with the world.
At the beginning of 2012, Christine came to the conclusion that she wanted to take on the challenge and commit to becoming a serious author. “After watching my husband go through chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, I really started looking at my own life. Life is just too short and I wanted to find something that allowed my inner enjoyment of life to blossom and not just go through the everyday existence of being. I wanted to reach out and share the stories that are brimming over in my imagination and gift them to the romance enthusiasts out there.”
So, starting in March, Christine tackled the creation of her first book set, The Sphinx Warriors Series. She wanted something unique and not the usual vampire, werewolf, shape-shifter characters of the paranormal. So she researched time periods of the past that might spark an idea and was inspired by the Egyptian time of Pyramids, Sphinx, deserts, and Warriors. Thus was born The Sphinx Warriors.
“Actually creating the characters, their social structures, their habitation, and the plot and conflicts to move the story forward was the easy part. Learning the proper format of the manuscript, query, letters, the synopsis, and querying agents and publishers was the difficult, painful part. Overall, I can’t complain, though, as many authors out there have been trying to get published for years. It took me roughly seven months and was offered a contract by Red Sage Publishing. The first book, Sphinx Resurrected, will be released February 1, 2013.”
The next book in The Sphinx Warriors Series, Sphinx United, is also complete, and a third being written. She is also starting work on additional paranormal romances that will include hunky vampires who protect their unsuspecting mortals and angels who will give up heaven to be with their charges.
